Raiders of the Lost Bar
Think back to your college days. Just about every campus bar in the country has at least these three bars in their campus village. It’s like some sort of unwritten law of college socializing. I will admit that I enjoy going to the bars that are all about dancing, but I think part of that enjoyment is because I was always going with my fiance/wife and (thankfully) always missed out on the quiet desperation of the meat market ambiance that always hangs over those sort of bars.
Most of the time I prefer places that are a little quieter and off the beaten path, though. None of the characters in the comic are autobiographical in any sense of the word, but in this case Eric shares a preference for the kind of place friends and I hung out at back in the day.
Do you have a Linksys Wireless Router? If you do I’d encourage you to chuck the thing into the garbage where it belongs and upgrade to a different brand. I bought one on the cheap at Best Buy when the wife and I first moved in together last June. It worked well enough if you don’t mind the Internet not working, the router randomly dropping you from your network so that your computer tries connecting to the neighbors unsecured network, and constantly going in to do hard resets when the thing stops working. The last straw came when I noticed that Internet Explorer and Firefox just stopped connecting to the net when I was running downloads. I replaced it with a Belkin router and the difference is like night and day. Download speeds are blazing fast and there are no more random disconnects. I’ll never buy a Linksys product again, I can tell you that much.
