Scalping is a lot harder than it sounds once you think about everything involved. I’d say it’s probably worth the time and trouble when a console is still brand spanking new and people are willing to shell out all kinds of dough for the privilege of saying they have the newest shiny gadget and no good games to play on it. I have a friend who made around a thousand bucks just for his spot in line waiting for the Playstation 3. The joke’s on the idiot who paid for that spot so early in the game.
I was cruising eBay and it looks like the Wii black market has cooled down quite a bit since last November when I was looking for one. I suppose that there just isn’t as much demand with the holiday season over, so if you’re still in the market for the little white console eBay isn’t such a bad option these days. It certainly beats racing frazzled parents and cranky kids to the back of a store hoping to get one from the latest shipment. Of course in the Insert Credits comic universe they’re still selling like hotcakes at a price just ridiculous enough to make the whole exercise worthwhile.
I’ve been adding in a bit of shading on the past two comics. The first time I used a soft brush and it was a little harder to make out. If you clicked on the Cast page last week you would’ve noticed the original concept for Sean was all shaded and pretty as well, but it was something that I was avoiding in the comic up to this point just because it added a lot of extra time to each strip. I’m starting to get fast enough that I feel comfortable adding a few flourishes here and there, though, so I hope you guys like the change.
Insert Credits is hovering at a respectable spot over at the voting sites. If you like what you see then take a moment and support the comic with your vote.
That’s it for Wednesday. I’ll see everyone back here on Friday when we should get started on Josh’s first night out in years.

It could come in handy. Also, I like the detail on the hair. Love seeing the art styles of comics develop.

“I hadn’t thought of that…” He murmured. “Maybe I should buy a truck…”
Sean’s facial hair still makes him look like a dummy to me. As in the puppet, not stupid. His eyes contribute to the feeling.
Scalping a council really wouldn’t be THAT hard when it first comes out. You’d probably just need to make the Paypal and E-bay accounts and stick it on there. You wouldn’t need to advertise that you have one or find a price to sell it at when it first comes out to make it worth it. Just slap a long auction time on it and putting the starting price just a bit above the price you bought it for would work. People would search for it on the site like crazy if it was right when it just comes out so that’s all you’d need to do and the price would naturally pump up on it’s own. This is all just theory though. I just figure it’d be easy near release if you got a hold of one, not to mention it would be the most profitable time to get one.

o.0 weird… where did that first line come from? Must have gotten mushed with something when I spell checked. Sorry.

Yeah, selling stuff is simple when they first come out, but now that we’re about a year and a half away from the original release it’s starting ot get a little harder. Heck, it’s a wonder that the Wii is still selling like hotcakes this far after its initial release, but you should never underestimate the gullibility of hardcore fanboys I suppose.

Indeed, well said.
Oooh… I know how this can be solved in comic without effort. TIME MACHINE. Obviously. Just go back a year and a half. Crazy shenanigans follow. Happy fun time for all. Unless it isn’t.

I don’t know that I want to break the laws of physics in the Insert Credits Universe quite this early. Although I do have a massive storyline planned for Gencon in August that should do nicely if you enjoy that sort of thing.
